The Hummingbird Bakery may only have been founded ten years, but its cookbooks have become somewhat legendary. Frequently bestsellers on Amazon, their baking books help us to bring American-style baking into our kitchens. If you’re a fan of cookies, muffins, pumpkin pie or New York cheesecake, this is probably the baking book for you.
We think it’s fair to say that Delia Smith is a national treasure (as long as we ignore ‘let’s be ‘avin’ you!’), and her cookbooks are practically a kitchen essential. For baking beginners, we’d recommend Delia’s Cakes – it’s been in print continuously since its first run in 1977, so it’s safe to say that it’s stood the test of time. Need another reason to buy this book? 90% of the recipes in the recently published and updated version are gluten free.
Mary Berry’s Baking Bible
This list wouldn’t be complete without a book that would never have been published if it wasn’t for the Great British Bake Off.
